Book Review: Symmetry by Marcus Du Sautoy (Affiliate link)

This is a fascinating exploration of the mathematic of symmetry as well as the history of the people coming up with the math. The author’s stories are fascinating and it also helps me appreciate how integral math is to our lives. What I liked about this book is that I came away with a better understanding of a mathematicians journey to solve a problem. It a year long journey that’s quite intriguing.

Book Review: The Creativity Code by Marcus Du Sautoy (Affiliate link)

The creativity code explores algorithms and how technology is being used to impact creativity, art, and innovation with AI. The author explores AI algorithms in music, writing, art, science and mathematics and shows how algorithms are impacting these disciplines as well as the human response to AIs. It’s a fascinating read that explores how the evolution of technology is impacting our lives, but what I find most intriguing is the possibility of how human creativity can evolve as a result.

Book Review: Beyond Victim Consciousness by Lynne Forrest (Affiliate link)

This book explores how to move beyond victim consciousness by learning how to recognize when you are engaged in a victim mentality and then creating distance between yourself and the thoughts and emotions by observing them. The book has a couple good practices it recommends, though it never fully takes off from the theoretical. Additionally the author uses italics and bold way too much in the text and I question whether she’s really experienced trauma because of how she brushes off traumatic events. While I think the practices shared in this book have value, I also think the author is a bit out of touch.

Book Review: The Music of the Primes by Marcus Du Sautoy (Affiliate link)

This is another fascinating history of mathematics, which explores the efforts of various people to solve the Riemann Hypothesis and map out the primes. I fund the presentation of the material to be engaged and enjoyed learning more about mathematics and how the work done around Primes has had such a pivotal role in our lives and in the technology we have access too.

Book Review: The Number Mysteries by Marcus Du Sautoy (Affiliate link)

In this book the author shares 5 mathematical mysteries and the history behind those mysteries. You can tell this is the first book the author wrote the writing isn’t as polished or engaging as his other books, but its still a good book to read that illuminates some interesting problems in mathematics. It’s a good exposure to different areas of mathematical disciplines.

Book Review: Nature Spirits by Susan Raven (affiliate link)

In this book the author explores and seeks to modernize the classic 4 elements of the west by applying physics to our understanding of the elements. It’s an interesting book with some unique insights, though at times it reads more as an advert of Rudolf Steiner’s work. I get that the author admires his work, but I wanted to read more of her own work with what she shares, in relationship to the elemental spirits. I did find the meditations interesting, but some practical exercises would have also been nice.

Book Review: Weaving Fate by Aidan Wachter (affiliate link)

Weaving Fate shares some practical magic techniques that you can use to improve your life. The author uses a combination of techniques that allow you to do internal work as well as practical magic. The techniques are solid and easy to implement and modify. If you’re looking for a manual to help you do some magic, this is a good book to read that will help you do the work.

Book Review: The Sirt Food Diet by Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten (Affiliate link)

I’m currently doing the cleanse for this diet and finding it really helpful. In a just few days I’ve lost about 6 pounds and seen my BMI and other metrics go down. I also feel great. What I like about this book is that it’s not a total weight loss diet. It’s really focused on orienting you toward how to eat better. The authors explain the science behind their approach. The book also has a one month program that gets you started on the diet. I would use this program as much for a cleanse/fasting for spiritual purposes as for health purposes.
